Weekly Review W15: 3 Weeks Left
With April already in the books, 2018's spring semester is rapidly winding to a close. There are three weeks left with much left to accomplish. English 145 remains with our similar schedule of reading, analysis, posts and final projects. This week see's us students post our final lengthy project to our websites. I've been working towards this first draft at a steady pace, finishing a concept which began with my second project. My best writing this week has come from my first draft or my final project as I feel I reached a healthy groove. There's no better feeling when writing, when you've reached a creative/mental groove that see's all writing begin to flow like water. Any and all struggle disappears, and the task at hand actually becomes fairly easy. Reaching this apex within the process of creating a longer piece is both relieving and the funnest aspect of writing in my opinion. Luckily I've reached that point while in the process of creating my final project. In regards to other courses, I received the results for my third biology midterm (last before final), and as I suspected I did well. I received an A and am incredibly pleased with this result. The long studying paid off and now my efforts in Biology shift towards a final presentation due in just a week and a half. This presentation consists of three other students and myself. The presentation is on genetically modified foods and is required to be 20 minutes. I'm looking forward to finishing this presentation as soon as possible because public speaking is not my favorite task. I'm hoping we're one of the first groups tasked with presenting, because the nerves can provide much anxiety for me. Finally, in my Chicano Cinema Analysis course, my final research paper and last remaining film reviews are due in the coming weeks. The research paper being the most daunting at a required 5-10 page length. Even though I described the paper as daunting, I'm not too overwhelmed. I know where I'm going with it and the length shouldn't be much of an issue. After all, I've had to write papers with required lengths of 12-15, so in comparison, this should be a walk in the park. With only three weeks remaining here is another reflective post of where I've been the last week and where I'm going in the coming period.
